Thorn & Company, Inc. offers a choice of hand-rubbed oil, poly-oil or lacquer finishes on natural, wild black cherry wood from Pennsylvania or New York forests. All natural cherry pieces in any of our finishes will darken over time, more quickly with more light.

Our hand-rubbed oil finish ages beautifully and is easy to repair. It does require periodic re-oiling, and does not repel water unless waxed. The poly-oil finish gives the same finish as the hand-rubbed oil finish with the added protection of polyurethane for enhanced water resistance. Ease of repair without periodic re-oiling is also a benefit.

Our lacquer finish offers good water resistance and minimal maintenance, although damage will require the help of a knowledgeable refinisher.

We no longer offer any stains or custom stain matching, except to match furniture previously purchased from us.

For an environmentally friendly finish, order our hand-rubbed oil or poly-oil finish. Both are non-polluting and easy to maintain.
